  • Discuss the prevalence within the Unites States
  • Learn why there is a rise in violence towards nurses
  • Learn the consequence of the violence against nurses
  • Describe the different types of workplace violence
  • Describe the potential acts of violence
  • Discuss why nurses must report the violence to their leaders
  • Learn about the connection between worker and patient safety
  • Define the terms “Just Culture” and “High Reliability Organizations” and identify their connections to a culture of safety
  • Learn what federal, local and state lawmakers are doing to make nurses safer
  • Learn the steps to the prevention of violence
  • Learn about the different prevention programs available
  • Identify the available resources to healthcare organizations
