All surgeries come with potential risks. If the patient has any underlying cardiovascular or respiratory conditions, the risks can be even greater. The patient may arrive to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) intubated. This requires special care and knowledge by the ICU care team to ensure a safe extubation and positive outcomes. This course will prepare the learner to better care for the post-anesthesia patient population in the ICU.
Successful completion of this course will provide the learner with one (1) contact hour. This continuing nursing education activity was approved by the Virginia Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation To receive credit for this course you must pass this test with a score of 80% or higher.
